One of the major advantages for users of OER Commons is that resources are categorized, indexed, and described. This allows teachers and others to search and discover open educational resources in a way that helps them find relevant materials.

If your organization is interested in importing large sets of resources, ISKME’s curation team can help in indexing resources with keywords and metadata. Metadata, data that describes a resource, and in the case of open educational resources, includes descriptors such as title, author, material type, and material license.

Resources on the site can be searched and filtered using an expanded set of descriptive data, including conditions of use.

Our team will share our site metadata schema and documentation, review their content, and assist in mapping their metadata formats to OER Commons so that their content can be searchable on our site.

Additionally, if you would like your organization’s content to be hosted on our servers, ISKME’s team can help import your content onto the site via one of our authoring platforms (Open Author and/or the Module Builder).
